*SWIPE OVER!* It’s been drawn to my attention recently that most people seem to think I am running Pro Tools or Logic, and adding a good bit of EQ, compression, etc to my video demos. It’s been pretty funny to see people’s reactions when I tell them what my setup ACTUALLY is, and they always say I should make that public. So... here it is.
All mics except the kick are very cheap. And even the kick mic is pretty cheap if you buy used! •AKG D112 on kick •Blue Encore e100i on snare •AKG P4 on toms •AKG P17 overheads
These mics run into the 6 mic pres on a cheap Mackie ProFX12 V2. I have minimal EQ control, so there’s very little happening there, as you can see. One of the built in reverbs is tolerable, so just a touch of that is added, since a room mic isn’t an option (my room sounds terrible). —————————— A 1/4” instrument cable comes out of the L main out (mono) and into an iRig. Since I got a new phone, the iRig now also has an apple lightning dongle added (🙄). This gets audio directly into the iPhone for recording videos, or m4a audio files via “voice memos”. No editing/syncing on the back end. —————————— Now, go forth and make your Instagram drum videos sound better without dropping any serious $$$. 😁 —————————— #drums#recording#drumkit#qdrumco#zildjian#zildjiancymbals#remo#teamremo#bluemicrophones#akgmicrophones#irig#mackie#iphone ...
