‘These boots are made for walking’👢 I remember us all singing *i was miming as I’m tone deaf* that song in a school play but I was dressed as a bunny rabbit 🤷🏼♀️ The play was Jack & the beanstalk so I still have no idea why I was a bunny singing these boots are made for walking. Again, another random memory of mine 😂 ...
Tag someone that fancies escaping to the wilds of wonderful snowy Scotland! This is the Glas-allt-Shiel lodge on the Balmoral Estate by the shores of Loch Muick. How lovely does that sound? The mix of the Autumn colours and the dusting of snow is a delicious combination. Love this by @martinbenniephotography
This lovely lodge was rebuilt by Queen Victoria in 1868 as a place to escape the world following the death of her husband, Prince Albert. It’s now personally owned by The Queen so I’m not sure she would be too chuffed with me moving in with my suitcase full of chocolate digestives.
However! All is not lost for us plebs, for there is a bothy (small basic building) that can be used at the back of the lodge for free! True, there is no electricity or fuel… and the water supply might be frozen in the winter. But it can be a real lifesaver in terrible weather. When Royal parties are visiting the lodge backpackers are still allowed to stay in the bothy but they are asked to keep discreetly out of the way and not ask if Her Majesty has a spare teabag.
Have a lovely Wednesday! Super shot by @martinbenniephotography 🇬🇧 To be featured, follow and tag us! ‘Ta! 🇬🇧 ...
