🔥SEATED DIP MACHINE🔥

The seated dip machine is one of my favorites machines to use on my push days!

A common misconception with this machine is that you can hit your chest if you angle your body forward as you see me doing in these two clips and only hit your triceps if you position your body more upright... From my personal experience I have learned that by shifting your torso forward you can hit both your chest and triceps very effectively if you really focus on squeezing both at the bottom of the movement and slowly lowering the weight and pausing at the top to get the full stretch and full range of motion for both of these muscle groups.

By sitting more upright yes you do take your chest almost completely out of the equation and use MORE triceps but for many people including myself this puts your shoulders and elbows at a very compromised position and unnatural movement path... The goal in training is to always train as effective and safe as possible and by tilting your body slightly forward you can not only do that but also get the most out of the movement by hitting two muscle groups at once and do so in the most effective and safe way possible!

Work on that mind muscle connection and really focus on using both your chest and triceps during this movement and I promise you'll notice the difference!

“what keeps you motivated?” ~~
i told myself i’d never be an athlete. i saw girls & women who were fast, strong, flexible, incredible— and i truly believed that it’d never be me. 
i wasn’t made for it, i didn’t deserve it, i’d always be a step behind. 
team sports killed my confidence.
i accepted the narrative i’d never be that girl i idolized ..... until i didn’t. ~
i was 12 when i started vaulting— i couldn’t do a push-up. 
the first time i felt strong was when i was 15. 
the first time i was complimented for my strength i was 16. 
when i was 17, i worked at a gym and felt like i fit in. i worked with a trainer and pushed myself hard for the first time. 
when i was 18, i got my own personal training certification.

i’m a month from turning 20 and i am grateful every day for NOT SETTLING and for pushing myself to be who i want to be. 
past me would idolize future me, and i’m growing every day 💪🏼.
