"Remember...someone is always watching you"
So, here’s a funny incident that happened a few days ago. I love cold drinks. Like really love them. Thumbs up is my favorite. Now, my one regret? Aira got a taste of it years ago and now has the same love for them.
I know they are one of the worst possible things out there and I try my best to keep her away from them. I have stopped getting them in the house too.
I mean kids follow your actions and not your words….right?
So, a few days ago was my cheat day. I decided to order a pizza and binge on those empty calories. Ordered one for Aira as well. Hubby has a lot of self-control ao he stuck to his healthy stuff.
I really had a craving for thumbs up. I mean Pizza and a cold drink are a match made in heaven.
But, I did not want Aira to have it. It was a conundrum.
So what do I do? I call my local veggie shop guy and ask him to deliver the cold drink home. I sneak it to a shelf in the kitchen which is not easily accessible for Aira.
So the pizzas arrive and Aira tells me how she wished for a coke( why did I ever introduce this !) I tell her with the most pious face that cold drinks are bad and have such a high sugar content. I offered her an iced tea instead and she happily accepted.
So, I served her an iced tea in a steel glass and pour myself a chilled Thumbs Up( Yum…) in a steel glass as well.
Aira sneaks a look at me and asks, ‘Mumma what are you having?’ Now, she knows that I don't take iced tea or other such drinks so I tell her with a straight face that it’s water. She gives me another look and gets busy with her food.
I let out a sigh of relief and enjoy my meal. The rest of the bottle is still hidden in the same place - to be disposed of the next morning.
Next morning is a holiday and Aira is home. I had gone out for some work and when I return, I see Aira standing with her arms crossed and hubby trying to control his laughter. “What’s going on?”I ask looking at both of them.
Rest in comment.
