Cool, my first insta post was exactly 2 years ago!!! 🔅🔅🔅
So I thought I'd do a little intro post because I realise I haven't really done one before... Like ever? Lol woops💃💃💃
. . 🙋I'm Soumya. My pronouns are she /her and I am a masters student. I study general chemistry, sounds cool😅
I am 22 year old looking for ways to explore chemistry in every possible way!!! 🌸🌸🌸
My absolute passion is to study and teach people chemistry!! . .
I spend most of my free time decluttering my room 😂😂🤣😜
I get anxious in movie theater so my movie knowledge is average!! 😅😅😅
I started this account to introduce and let you people have a sneak peak into a chemists life 😍😍
I love meeting new people (I'm slow at DMs), I get inspired by the thoughts people have and the intensity of their passion. I believe multi-ways, grassroots science education, in person or online, is such a powerful means of way to keep learning. . . .
Last thing about me: I am hyperactive 😅😂🤣😍😝😛🤗😂
What about you?? . .
💙Oxidation at its best!💙
When some mushrooms are exposed to oxygen in the atmosphere, it can have a color changing affect on it’s tissues.
This kind of oxidation is typically a sign of toxicity for a large number of mushrooms. That is not always the case though, there are some mushrooms that oxidize blue and are extremely delicious edibles.
This is some kind of blue staining bolete found in eastern Texas. They were all over the place!
A known edible blue staining mushroom would be the Butter Bolete (Butyriboletus primiregius).
What other plants or mushrooms oxidize at a rapid rate like this?
