🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹
🇬🇧 The Visitation is an oil painting on panel (202x156 cm) of Pontormo, dating to 1528-1530 and housed in Saints Michael and Francis Church in Carmignano, #Tuscany. The scene takes place in a dark city street, where it is set the Visitation of Mary to Saint a Elizabeth. The two women exchange a hug and an intense look at the presence of two ladies, one young and one old. The four women form the four pillars of a kind of parallelepiped, lightened with strength and covered with extremely intense colors: green, pink and orange. The intertwining of arms and fabrics is very original and of great elegance.

🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹
🇬🇧 “David with the Head of Goliath” is an oil on canvas painting (116x91 cm) made in 1597-1598 by Caravaggio and housed at the Prado Museum, Madrid. The artwork is attributed to the painter but it does not appear in any contemporary biography of the artist and presents the unresolved problem of the iconography, rather difficult because here the painter chooses to represent the hero almost as a child, focused on Goliath's hair. It is a tacitly abstract reinterpretation of the biblical episode, more realistic intellectual. The painting was perhaps painted during the early years of the artist's career and the face of Goliath could be a self-portrait.

Paul Gauguin : ‘Adam & Eve’ (1902) - Ever since Paul set sail to Tahiti in 1891, he had been searching for an earthly paradise, an idealised Eden. Artistically, the temptation of Adam & Eve became a favourite avenue for exploring this idea & was deeply linked to his quest for originality. It was painted just a year before Paul’s death...

Yahouuuu !
C'est le printemps !

Yahouuuu ! #Printemps #arcimboldo #Louvre #Tableau #saison #Fleurs #Portrait #Vienne #parisArt #Legumes #Histoiredelart #Masterpeice #YoyoMaeght ...
