motivation monday: we can choose easy or worth it.
Our society revolves around comfort and ease. It’s so easy to want to run from discomfort, but sometimes running towards it is exactly what we need to do to be stronger and free-er.
after a (long lol) break, I recently decided to start working out again consistently. There are moments when I’m lifting weights, or on the treadmill that my heart’s beating out of my chest and I want to die lol. But I have to tell myself, “I love this. This is so good for my body. This little victory now is making me stronger for the long haul.” Going to the gym is a practical way to train my mind and spirit to not always do what “feels good” but to do what’s right and what will be best for me.

motivation monday - get around some greenery 🌿
I recently learned about a study that showed apartment complexes (of the same area and eco class) with lawns and trees had lower crime than those that were paved over. Neighborhoods with more greenery had (idr the exact %) way lower rates of gun violence, and people’s stress hormones measured much lower after viewing pictures of trees and plants. There’s something about nature that’s super good for our mental well-being.
