As human beings, we naturally form habits...
We develop patterns in the way we think, the way we act, and the way we feel. ♻️
When we’re conscious and intentional about the types of habits we develop, they can help promote positive and productive development. We cultivate a kind of mental efficiency. We don’t have to think about what we’re doing–we just do it.
When we allow bad habits to develop, we can fall into negative cycles that mire us in unproductive or destructive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
One of the most effective ways to examine our habits, ensuring that they’re working to our benefit, is meditation. 🧘♂️
The sensitive awareness we lend to our thoughts when we meditate brings us to a heightened level of consciousness. We’re able to more objectively observe and understand the patterns by which our minds operate.
And coming from this place of consciousness, we’re better able to make productive changes to the way we think, feel, and act. We can more clearly define our motivations and see with sharper vision why we do the things we do, separating true desires and intentions from those that are no longer serving us.
