When you make something, you value it more
It wasn’t until I started making clothes that I realised just how much work goes into making one item, how many hours it took me to make one top. For me, that’s when the low prices of high street clothes started to not add up.
It wasn’t until I spoke with @clareharveyceramics and @clayelm that I began to understand how long it takes to make one ceramic cup!
They explained the many stages that are involved (just fyi it takes daysss).
It wasn’t until I did a Lino printing workshop at @the_bluecoat that myself and others on the course stopped and said, “wow those artists who sell Lino printed cards, that is some time consuming work”.
The list goes on, but you get my point! Making something, or just learning how things are made, really give an appreciation for craftsmanship.
So....let’s give it up for the amazing people behind the things we use every day!✨👏🏼 ...
happy monday friends !!
