Week 12, Run 1/3 - 3,5km (8km) ✔
I shortened my run today and did just 3,5km after my soccer session instead of 8km. If soccer counts I still did 8. At least I ran and that's important.
Soccer is my priority and that's why I cut the mileage. The session wasn't satisfying for me. I was not happy with my playing, but I am never happy with myself at soccer... Yet today I had problems with my legs. Due to the running I was very exhausted and had a bit of pain... nothing bad, but so that I couldn't play convenient enough. So I am at the point where running doesn't make me fit anymore, instead I am exhausted. So I have to be extra careful and do anything to balance it again. Soccer is my priority and I need to be fit for it.
Yet I also see where the differences are and how different muscles are used in the two types of sport. It shows how different the running style is.
Furthermore it's easier to do the mental techniques during the running. In soccer you can't focus that much on yourself, because it's a team sport. And I have problems with not being so hard on myself and positive self talk. It's more difficult for me in soccer. Yet it's a great opportunity to learn and grow. I just need to keep reminding me of that.
