🌻 I am who I am today because I opened my mind and heart to a crazy idea.. the idea that I deserved abundant healthy food, a high energy life, adventure when I could, a career I was passionate about and rest when I craved it!
I closed my mind off for almost 4 years by falling for my very first gimmick diet beliefs. I started going against my body - restricting and over working.
Carbohydrates were the enemy, anything above 1600 calories was gluttony, 2 heavy workouts a day was normal, consuming triple sometimes quadruple the amount of protein my body needed was the norm.
Then came the downfall .. I fell deep. The extreme restriction, the unbearable digestion issues from the acidic animal protein and dairy, binge after binge because my body was starving and I couldn't hold off anymore.
All because I closed my mind to what I knew was right and forced myself into something that hurt me - into this belief that eating abundant foods was wrong, that I needed to starve my body of glucose (carbs) even though glucose is what our bodies run off, that I was lazy if i didn't spend 2+ hours inside the gym everyday.
Don't ever fall for this -- for any gimmick diet. I've been through them ALL. Cleanses, fasts, carb cycling, low carb, intermittent fasting, iifym, paleo... None of which were sustainable.
Ask yourself this- can I see myself eating this way when im 40-50-60 .. Would I eat this way while I was pregnant .. Would I feed my child this way?
Portioning meals, consuming chemical diet foods, limiting calories, weighing food.. I don't think so.
PLANT BASED: no restriction, no counting calories, no limited portions, no insane workout regime. Amazing digestion, a lean/tight body, abundant energy and of course - the most amazing foods ever. Pizza, pasta, sushi, burgers, fries, milkshakes, ice cream, cookies, cakes, chips, dips - and everything in between.
