Summits don’t have to be “technical” in order to make safety a priority.
I’ve been asked many times over the years about why I wear a helmet and when. My rule of thumb is... if I’m planning to go on any off-route scramble adventures, bring a helmet. They are lightweight and can easily be strapped onto the back of any pack. They protect your precious noggin’ from falls and from falling rocks, and that’s especially important when you have people above on the same route.
Scree is loose. Talus moves and shifts, and tripping and smacking your head on a rock is always in the realm of possibilities. Ladies who are interested in a recommendation - I love my @petzl_official Elia helmet because it has a notch in the back to accommodate a ponytail! 💁🏽♀️
Choosing an adventurous soul is not because you like danger, but love life more than anyone else. Do you love challenging yourself? I love it so bad.
I finally got this chance hiked up to Mt Bourgeau last Friday. Thank you for inviting me! There are still so many hiking trials that I want to do. I started to do the outdoor activities especially hiking since I came to Canada. I am always struggling after few hours hike. I was talking to myself on the way up: " Why am I doing this? " "I am not going to do this again." "This is my last hike for this summer."😂
It was so windy and I was freezing cold when we were on the summit. I appreciated the surrounding but I got a bit sad feeling at one point. How beautiful view in front of me. How lucky am I! Thanks for giving me another year and enjoying this amazing place. How awesome life has been treating me. How hard I effort for the things and I am still improving myself everyday. I can't ask for more and all I should do is cherish and grateful for what I have. If this is going to be my last summer live in Canada then I don't have time to waste. Told myself, stop being afraid what you could go wrong and start being positive what you could go right! Oh yeah, #thecycleofmountaineering ⛰
Climb while experiencing great discomfort ➡️ Swear you'll never do something this miserable again ➡️ Summit mountain ➡️ Get home safe, eat and sleep ( leave me alone, sorry if I didn't talk any words after a long hike) ➡️ Planning next hike in the next day 🔄⛰️🔄💪🔄
Why do you hike? Why would you like to challenge yourself?
Be brave and strong. Miss you little angel! Maybe when we are ready, we'll meet again. LOVE LIFE!❤️
