It’s okay to take life slow. Today, just cherish a moment. 💕
You could get coffee with a friend, take a walk, or go get ice cream and savor it. ———————————
Tag a friend you’ve missed ❤️ ...
The jig you do after a 4-month social media hiatus but you wanna say hi #missedyou 💚 what’s the longest break you’ve taken from the 🌪vortex of social media?? Did it change the way you view it or interact with it? 🙋🏼♀️ I’ve deleted a TON of pages that I was pretending were “inspiring,” but actually made me feel kind of not- enough-something. Mostly looking at decor these days. How about you??? ...

You can strangle this poem into a rubble of stereotypes
Cigarettes after sex?
How poets bleed with words?
But then, your alarm won't go off
With each passing second
Your heart beats faster than the frenzy in which you cancelled your last Uber trip
Traffic lights maybe? Red and green.
The last one being an irony.
You see, writing a poem is not as easy as it seems
You can put together a couple of words
Love and wine and pain
Or a stray cat by the roadside
But the monster under your bed
has run you over
with the sleeves of your shirt that got drenched
when you washed your hands
off another self-deprecating joke.
You find yourself in a darkened alley
The shadow of yesterday looms by your side
Tell me how,
when your 3BHK flat with an air-conditioned bedroom
gets cold at night
You wake up from an icy nightmare
To see yourself sitting on your chest
Breathless and void into the future.
You watered your plant last Wednesday.
Hashtags done right,
it's withered remains laugh in your face.
You have your coffee too bitter, she remarks
Pouring in two and a half teaspoons
of mutual disillusionment.
Do the pop-up ads on your laptop screen
Dissolve your unacknowledged facade
of a second fiddle?
Friend, lover, Husband?
You can gouge your eyes out till it doesn't hurt
But blink not when they stream an episode
In your rented apartment that reeks of the smell of an old bottle of Scotch
Streching time like a self-help video.
You smirk. Blink.
