God is good and I’m going to tell you why. 1. I witnessed a really bad car wreck earlier and it could’ve been me but it wasn’t. 2. I drove home in a really bad thunderstorm and anything could’ve happened but I made it home safely. I cried all the way home this evening because I don’t believe that these things are a coincidence. I don’t believe that I’m lucky to be alive. I don’t believe in luck at all actually. I believe in blessings. I believe that I’m blessed and I’m thankful for God’s blessings. I believe that I have this platform to tell you these things. I hope you don’t mind.

3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3 Tbsp lemon juice from 1 large lemon
1 garlic clove pressed or minced
1/2 tsp sea salt or to taste

1 English Cucumber halved and sliced
15 oz chickpeas or garbanzo beans, drained, rinsed
1/2 medium red onion thinly sliced

Fridge Foraged Fried Rice 🍚 
I was food shopping for a while today for a bachelorette I’m catering on Saturday 🥳 and dinner was not on my mind. When I got home I had to fit all the food in the fridge and I had to eat, so this dinner was born. I cleaned out 3 Tupperwares (it was four but we didn’t eat all of this for dinner so I had to put one back), the bag of mushrooms and some scallions. Stuff from three leftover meals turned into another meal - my favorite way to fake meal prep 😄

Today my inbox looked a little like this “sorry you didn’t receive the...” ...”our class sold out let’s plan another!” ...”you were not accepted for the...” ...”hi are you booking out into the winter”⠀

Woah! Just typing that out gives me whip lash! I was listening to a podcast earlier Ill share it in my stories of the fastest man in America! He said he hated running- until he felt the call on his life to run! The prep was awkward, he didn’t get good for a while- and then it was like the heavens opened.⠀

He didn’t win every race, but he won a lot. And when he was asked “does it surprise you that you’ve gone this far” he said “no, cause I know it’s what I was called to do.”⠀

He explained how hard it is when he didn’t win every race, or how hard it was was his body needed to rest not train. What he said though was that he gave himself time to process disappointment- literal time and then he had to move on. He had to or else he would have never reached what he set out to do! ⠀

If I didn’t give myself time to process and move on I could never have the margin to celebrate the beauty, the opportunity! If I didn’t invite coaches, friends, mentors to help me keep my focus on the end goal- I’d sink in the mud!⠀

Just like anything we care about deeply it can consume! Don’t lose site of truth, don’t let who you are by design slip away because disappointment. Don’t let highs or lows keep you from finishing the journey! I’m preaching to myself today too with all the praise hands!⠀
