Ahoi!
Today is new shoe day 😏
Habe mich mal an ein Modell aus der Schweiz getraut und war gleich vom ersten Schritt an begeistert.
Ich konnte überhaupt nicht aufhören zu laufen, so gut fühlt er sich an.
Da ich mit Radbegleitung unterwegs war, musste ich mich aber zügeln 🤭😜
Zur Hälfte dann mit diesem herrlichen Anblick belohnt werden, war doch was feines.
18 Kilometer sind dann am Ende zusammen gekommen.
In Brandenburg ist es wohl auch ganz nett...

TIME TO REFLECT. It’s over 2 weeks now since @manchestermarathon and I’ve had some time to look back at my race day experience. Most importantly, I’m still not disappointed that I missed my sub-3hr target. But I am making some changes.

Long story short, both physically and mentally, I don’t think I was ready for the last 10 miles of the race. I managed to keep target pace until that point, but after that I was just exhausted. Every step was a struggle. My mid-race target quickly changed to sub-3:05... then sub-3:10... and eventually sub-3:15.

I still got a PB so I’m chuffed to bits, but I’ve also learnt a LOT. Training is important but the experience gained by actually running marathons is equally valuable, when the time eventually comes during the race to dig deep. I need a lot more of that experience before I try doing sub-3hr again.

So my next few marathon attempts are going to adopt a very different strategy, to help me build my mental toughness for those last 10 miles. I’ll be aiming to chip away at my PB gradually. Perhaps I’ll try to do sub-3:10 next time. Then once I hit that, I’ll try and get closer to 3:05. The aim will be to run at a pace that I can hold for the whole distance, without falling off a proverbial cliff. That’ll then become my benchmark. Something to move forward from.

Even when we miss our targets, it’s important to take something positive from it. I’ll always be grateful for the experience I gained at Manchester. And I know that next time I do a marathon (whenever that is), that I’ll be mentally stronger than I was this time.

I’m also reminding myself never to give up: I still have a goal to eventually smash. And I’m still determined, one day, to do it 😊💪🏼

10 days post half marathon, and I finally felt like running again. This slow, leisurely run with my girl was so good for the soul. I’m thoroughly enjoying not having another race on the calendar this year, and having more time to enjoy this new chapter in my life. 🧡.

A couple of weeks ago at @ragnarrelay #SoCal, I was runner 5 - a position I’ve run at least 3 times. This year the course was a little different and I really loved seeing some different areas of Orange County than where I’ve run before. Let’s just say there are some areas of the relay course that are less than beautiful. But that’s the amazing thing about running - you can be running in a seemingly boring or not beautiful place and then stumble upon something great. There’s always something great to every run, whether it’s around you or within you. .

On a side note, I am SO excited to be heading to Richmond tomorrow night for @ragnartrail Richmond. I’ll be running with some of my favorite people and I just can’t wait! Who’s done #ragnartrailRVA before? Who will be there this year? #runswithsole #trailtuesday #ragnartrail.

5km Marathontempo 🦌 
2km Auslaufen 🐇 
Die 5km wollte ich zwischen 5:20 und 5:30 min/km laufen... ich Idiot hab aber bei der Streckenwahl nicht dran gedacht, dass ich während dem Tempoabschnitt 4 von 5km im Wald unterwegs bin und mein GPS da irgendwie nicht richtig funktioniert...
Meldete permanent „zu langsam“ um dann bei der KM-Zeit anzuzeigen dass ich zu schnell war #läuftbeimir
