👋🏼👋🏼 I thought I would do a quick little post introducing (myself) the chef behind these creations 🤪 just kidding.. I’m a #wannabechef. Well, HIIIII! I’m Klaire, yes with a K😘... don’t spell it wrong! I created this page in January 2017 simply to post pictures of the meals I create and also find people who are struggling and in need of encouragement. I have a huge passion for health/wellness/fitness and absolutely love seeing people do a 180 change to a healthier & clean lifestyle. I never have and never will claim to be a professional/ know-it -all and I am learning every day and researching as much as I can to gain more knowledge of the human body & nutrition. I do, however; like to share the little knowledge I do know and help people who can’t get motivation, can’t seem to master meal prepping, or simply to hold people accountable & give them the extra push and encouragement. As long as I am able to help one person, I feel as if I’ve done my job! I want everyone to know the feeling of not only looking good on the outside, but feeling good on the inside. To feel confident in their skin and not sit back and beat themselves over their weight but actually do something to change! Changing your eating habits can increase energy, stabilize hormones, increase brain function & promote radiant skin. Why would you not want to see those changes? It’s never too late. But it’s a LIFESTYLE change. Eating clean allows you freedom for the treats that will not ruin your progress. You don’t have to wait until the holiday or the weekend is over.... Start today. Besides sweets my other weakness is seafood. To be honest I don’t really cook seafood at home, usually it’s reserved for a special occasion out.

BUT Dungeness crab was on sale for $7.99/lb at my local T&T supermarket so I decided to make ginger and chive crab over chow mein noodles

Recipe Below
2 dungeness crabs about 1 1/2-2lbs each (cleaned and cut) 
1 onion sliced
2 inch knob of ginger sliced into pieces 
1/2 stalk of chives cut into 2 inch lengths
1 package of fresh chow mein noodles usually found in the refrigerated section
2 tablespoons of oil for frying
Corn starch to lightly coat crab before frying
Sauce:
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
3 dashes white pepper
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon sugar
3/4 cup water or chicken stock
2 teaspoon corn starch
1 teaspoon fish sauce
Instructions:
-Clean and cut crab into pieces
-Pat dry with paper towel and lightly coat all pieces with corn starch
-Heat oil up in wok and fry the crab. Make sure not to over crowd. Once fried set crab aside and remove excess oil
-Make sauce by mixing oyster sauce, white pepper, sesame oil, sugar, fish sauce, water and 2 teaspoons of cornstarch then set aside -In the wok heat up a bit of oil and add ginger and stir fry until fragrant. -Add sliced onion -Toss in fried crab
-Add the sauce and coat the crab, sauce will thicken a bit
-Add the chives 
Serve over chow mein noodles (I boiled noodles in hot water for 1 minute and then strain)

Pictured here are some cocktails I made with @empressgin1908 Both these cocktail recipes for their “Cucumber Blue” and “Royal Hawaiian” can be found right on their website.

The blue colour comes from of the petals of the butterfly pea blossom. The liquid changes color based on the pH level of the substance added to it.
•
This gin’s name was inspired by an iconic BC landmark the Fairmont Empress Hotel.
•
Fun fact #1 - I took my first ever overnight trip away from my family when I was 19. My best friends and I took a ferry over to Victoria and stayed at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. That was where I had my first fine dining experience. Just as that hotel shaped the distinctive taste of this beautiful gin, that hotel experience also helped shape my future culinary aspirations.

Fun fact #2 - My mother has these butterfly pea flowers in her garden in Laos! These flowers are derived from and most common in Southeast Asia. I wish she was closer so I could harvest those petals and create more beauties!

I am so in love with my latest tattoo from@vanessapresenger! This is the time clock from the Master Chef Canada kitchen and we were always told “your time starts now” before each cook… It was during my MasterChef experience that I realized that my time truly does start now! I grew and changed and learned so much about myself while filming the show. Life is too short so I’ll go big or go home (hopefully heaven)
Don't get me wrong, I don't suck on sugar straws all day but I also don't live on “miracle foods” When I feel super naughty my sinful Oreo Nutella biscottis & my yummy Oreo cream cheese cupcakes most definitely hit the spot!

What I cook today: Grilled Salmon on Rice with Spicy Chilli Paste (ภาษาไทยด้านล่างนะคะ 🇹🇭) One of my most favourite fish to cook and to eat is definitely Salmon, preferably Norwegian Salmon. Why? Because they are the best Salmon in terms of flavour and quality, but also nutrition and safety. For today’s lunch, I decided to prepare my all-time favourite menu: Grilled Salmon, served with brown rice mixed with chilli paste (still the chilli paste from @yadala_organic_natural) with stir-fried Chinese Spinach and Garlic on the side. I for one dreamt that I was worry free frolicking in the meadows. It was a mashup of Laura Ingalls in the little house on the Prairie & Fraulein Maria in the sound of music😂  I was singing, twirling & laughing hysterically.🤷🏽‍♀️
I thought I'd get inspired & inadequately reflect my dream in my brekkie today with the brightness, the flowers and the mountain like position of my waffles. 
After such a dream & a dreamy brekkie, I can’t help but genuinely smile. 
I hope that something or someone will also make you smile today❤️

I love this Job. The weekly meal planning, I get really excited about the food we’re going to eat. I’m using the new @jamieoliver Veg cookbook. We have decided to make a few changes to the way we eat as a family both for environmental and welfare issues so Monday to Friday we will be mainly eating vegetarian and then on the weekend we will have meat but making sure it’s free range and high welfare. We are trying lots of new meals and ingredients that we wouldn’t normally eat and I’m really looking forward to it. Im alsolooking forward to sharing with you what some of the dishes are.
