I’m trying to expand my interests, and #StanSakai came out with a new #UsagiYojimbo , so I thought I’d give that a try. I have no idea who the characters are, but I like the story that’s going on, we’ve got some evil puppetry happening and I dig it. I think I’ll keep reading these as they come out. I like the art a lot too, it’s really different than the stuff I normally read. With how much I like barbarian crap I don’t know why it took me so long to look into samurai stuff. Sakai is actually at a shop near me this week and I was going to try to attend the event, but I couldn’t get the day off, so that was lame. Oh well.
I of course had to read at least some of the #WarOfTheRealms though, since we’re getting so close to the end. The #SuperiorSpiderman by #ChristosGage tie in is pretty awesome for me, since it’s set locally in #SanFrancisco . I picked up the first issue to this series a while back but never got around to reading it, and I had no idea #DocOc was this #Spiderman , so walking into that was pretty interesting. I dug this issue, and I’m happy there’s one more tie-in for this title, because I kinda wanna go back and read the whole series now that I know who the protagonist is.
I got a hold of a What If? I’ve been looking for for a while, Issue 12 of the second series, What If the X-Men Had Stayed In Asgard? by #JimValentino . Once again some of my favorite worlds collide with the #XMen and the #Asgardians getting together, and for a great story at that. It’s basically a Ragnarok story with the X-Men taking the helm instead of Asgardians, and some of the mutants aren’t exactly happy to defend their new homelands. A great issue that I recommend to anyone and everyone regardless of what you usually read.
And that’s it for this week since I spent so much time organizing my comics, but now that that’s done, hopefully I can actually get to reading them.
Journey Into Mystery #3 - While this is a completely unnecessary War of the Realms tie-in, it is still a fun read. If you love classic Marvel western characters, then you’ll want to pick this issue up. Though the art is not my favorite style, it works pretty well for the zany story being told here. I swear I could read a whole mini series starring the hell hound Thori. He is hilarious. Interesting twist at the end of the issue as well. 3 out of 5
